Passport Information

Sandy City has been approved by the U. S. Department of State to be a Passport Acceptance Facility.

When: Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.

Photos: Sandy City can take your Passport Photo at a cost of $10 each (plus tax).

Sandy offers services for Adult First Time Applicants and Minor Applicants.**

To expedite the process, please bring the following items:

1. A check, money order or certified check made payable to U.S. Department of State for the application fee
2. Cash, check, credit or debit card to pay for your Execution Fees to Sandy City
3. Valid picture ID:
   • Current Driver's License
   • Aircraft Pilot's License
   • Official Military ID Card
   • Parent's identification for a child's Passport (under age 16)
4. Proof of Citizenship:
   • Original government issued birth certificate (hospital issued birth certificates are not accepted)
   • Original Certificate of Naturalization
   • Original Certificate of Citizenship
   • Previous U.S. Passport book or card

Please note:

• The Passport Book is used for international travel by air, land, and sea.
• The Passport Card is only valid when entering the U.S. by land and sea from Mexico, Canada, the Caribbean, and Bermuda. It is not valid for international air travel.
• Applications are typically processed in four to six weeks. Expedited applications take between two to three weeks.
• Once you have submitted your application, check the status of your Passport application on the U.S. Department of State website at www.travel.state.gov/passport. Please allow 5-7 business days for your Passport information to be loaded online.

• All Minor applications, including renewals, must apply in person at a Passport Agency, Acceptance Facility, U.S. Embassy or Consulate. Applications are typically processed in four to six weeks.
** If you are applying for a passport for a minor child under the age of 16, both parents must be present unless one parent has filled out a State of Consent (form 3053).

Passport Book Overnight Delivery (Applicants in the U.S. only)	$12.72	We strongly suggest you use an overnight delivery service to return your newly issued Passport Book to you. Overnight delivery service is not available for passport cards, which are delivered via First Class Mail only. To request Overnight Delivery, pay the $12.72 Overnight Delivery fee for each application, in addition to the required fees.
