Demographics

The 2000 Census population shows Sandy City as having a population of 88,551 inhabitants, with a total of 26,579 dwelling units. Over 6,469 new housing units have been constructed since the 1990 Census. It is estimated that in July of 2006 Sandy City’s population will be over 94,000, with a total of 27,913 dwelling units.

The 2008 Statistical Report (warning! large file - 29 MB, PDF Format) is a valuable tool for research, market analysis studies, and school projects.  It includes information on population, land use and housing characteristics, development trends, economics, city community facilities and public services.  The printed Report is also available for sale at the Planning Department office at City Hall.
