A construction permit is required for installation or modification of an LP-gas system. An electrical permit and inspection may be required by the Building Official. Permit fee is $87.00 per container.
Tanks are clearly marked with "Flammable" and either "LP-Gas" or "Propane".
Portable containers for temporary stationary use are placed on concrete pads, paved surfaces or firm earth.
Approved vehicle protection shall be provided when containers are exposed to probable damage due to proximity to alleys, driveways or parking areas.
Clearance from combustibles shall be kept not less than 10 feet from tanks or containers.
Containers used in buildings under construction or undergoing major renovation follow appropriate codes and standards.
Clearance from heat producing appliances and combustibles shall be maintained as set forth by the appliance listing and as approved.
Fire extinguishers of an approved rating are provided, visible and accessible throughout the structure where there are combustibles and open flame devices used.
