Criminal Code Violations

Most criminal code violations require an appearance before a judge.  A citation should have an appearance date and time listed.  If not, defendants should contact the court between 5-14 days after the citation issue date.  They should call (801)568-7160 weekdays between 8:45 A.M. and 5:00 P.M. to obtain a court date.

Two exceptions are:           

• Open Container Violations
• Doing Business Without a License.

Both of these violations can be handled without an appearance.  Instructions are found in the Courtesy Bail Notice which is sent to the address on the citation.  Questions can be directed to the court at (801)568-7160.
