VIPS (Volunteers in Police Service) is that opportunity. VIPS was created to assist in the services that the Sandy City Police Department provides to the community. VIPS are highly trained individuals who act as an extra set of eyes and ears for the Police Department.

Following Too Close . . The Sandy Police Department has decided to use new technology in hopes of reducing the number of these types of accidents. The TruCAM is a device which measures vehicle speed and distance between vehicles as they are traveling on the road. It is designed to help officers recognize which drivers are following too close to the vehicles in front of them.
