The Explorer Post recently held it’s annual Award’s Night. The Award’s night is a yearly formal banquet where Explorers are presented with the awards that they have earned during the past year.

The following awards were presented:
Captain John Hurley was our Explorer of the year for 2007. This is the second year in a row that he has earned this award. John has been with the Post for over three years. John has served as a sergeant, Lieutenant, and now as the top ranking Explorer in the Post.
John works as an intern in our Crime Lab. He also in is charge of the Honor Guard training program. John has put in countless hours assisting the department and the Post and has become a very valuable asset to the program. Congratulations John!
Other awards presented but not listed here include Academic Excellence, Tenure, Ride-A-Long Certification, and Honor Guard Training.

The awards night was Lieutenant Aaron Bartlett’s last event with us. Lieutenant Bartlett reached the maximum age requirement for the program when he turned 21. Lieutenant Bartlett served in the program for over two years. Other Explorers looked-up to Aaron and often referred to him as their “big brother”.
Aaron was always there for anyone in need.
Aaron has been an excellent Explorer and we are sad to see him leave. We wish him all the best in his future law enforcement career.
