Sandy Receives A- for Transparency on Website

Posted: December 01, 2010

Sandy City's website recently received an A- from Sutherland Institute for its transparency. The Institute recently released a report grading cities in Utah on the ability to relay important budget and spending information to their residents using the website. The report details specific information relating to transparency issues compiled in a 10-point checklist used to evaluate each item and how the municipality relayed that information to the public. The item being searched had to be found within 20 minutes and within three mouse clicks after entering the site.

More than 100 cities in the state of Utah were researched in 2010 with only nine cities receiving the highest grade of A-. Sandy received nine out of ten possible points based on the transparancy checklist.
