Sandy City has received an application from the non-profit Shelter the Homeless to repurpose a hotel into a transitional housing facility for medically vulnerable people. Shelter the Homeless seeks to repurpose the Econolodge Hotel at 8955 S. Harrison Street in Sandy, which it recently purchased, into transitional housing for pre-qualified people with low to no-income such as seniors, veterans, and those with medically vulnerable conditions. Shelter the Homeless has scheduled 2 upcoming public events: Nov. 11 at 10 a.m. at Lone Peak Park and Nov. 15 from 4-6 p.m. at Sandy City Hall. CLICK TO READ MORE
