Purpose

The purpose of the Attorney's Office is to provide quality and timely legal counsel to Sandy City, including the City Council and the Mayor. In fulfilling its purpose, the office defends the interests of the City through preventative law and professional litigation.

In addition, the office prosecutes persons and organizations charged with violations of the City ordinances ensuring justice, public protection and compliance with the law.

Entities Served

Many citizens believe that the City Attorney serves as the attorney for the community rather than a Municipal Corporation. The City Attorney is the attorney for Sandy City, as an entity.

Because of the nature of the City Attorney's role, we cannot represent or provide legal advice to individual citizens, groups or other entities. We are therefore unable to respond to individual requests for legal advice or representation.
