City Parks

City Parks are also available for reservation for groups or individuals. Most have outdoor pavilions and many have restroom facilities (open during warmer months). There are two indoor pavilions available for reservation. For additional information about reserving a City Park or Pavilion for your activity and current pricing, contact the Parks Department at 801-568-2900. See Park details below.

City Pavilions

Pavilion reservations may be made 6 months in advance for the date requested. If the date falls on a Saturday or Sunday, you may come in on the preceding Friday. Reservations can be made online or in person at the Parks & Rec Office. Non-Sandy residents will be charged an additional fee to reserve a pavilion. To reserve a pavilion in person, please visit our office at 440 East 8680 South Monday - Friday between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. For more information please call 801-568-2900.

PAVILION RESERVATIONS

Pavilion Reservations can be made online or in person at the Parks & Rec Office. Non-Sandy residents will be charged an additional fee to reserve a pavilion. To reserve a pavilion in person, please visit our office at 440 East 8680 South Monday - Friday between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

ONLINE PAVILION RESERVATIONS

Indoor Pavilion Online Reservations can only be made a maximum of 160 days in advance! Reservations also cannot be made within 72 hours of the reservation date.

Outdoor Pavilion Online Reservations can only be reserved during April 1 through October 15. Reservations can only be made a maximum of 160 days in advance! Reservations also cannot be made within 72 hours of the reservation date.

OUTDOOR PAVILIONS

LONE PEAK INDOOR PAVILION

This beautiful indoor/outdoor facility is located at 10140 South 700 East. The facility will accommodate 230 people, seating capacity would be less, or if used as a split room will accommodate 115 per side. Tables and chairs are included with your reservation. Two outdoor pavilions (one on each side of the building) also are available for reservation. Reservations may be made up to 6 months in advance from the date requested.

BICENTENNIAL INDOOR PAVILION

This indoor/outdoor facility is located at 530 East 8680 South. The facility will accommodate 80 people. Round tables and chairs are included in your reservation. One outdoor pavilion is directly behind this indoor facility.

Playing Fields

Playing fields may be reserved two weeks in advance prior to the date reserving. Fields need to be reserved in person at 440 East 8680 South Monday - Friday between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Non-Sandy residents will be charged an additional fee to reserve a playing field.

Parks Details

This park is located at the top of Quarry Bend Development offering a wonderful view of the valley. The park covers 16 acres, and includes; an outdoor covered pavilion, restrooms, playground, and a interactive water feature (see photo's below). The park also has a 3/4 mile jogging/walking path. The path will connect you to the 1.7 mile path that surrounds the Quarry Bend Development. PLEASE READ THE BELOW RULES AND POLICIES PRIOR TO USING THE INTERACTIVE WATER FEATURE!

 Hours of Operation: Daily 10 am to Dusk!
(May close during Amphitheater Concerts)

 SAFETY RULES

  • NO RUNNING ON OR AROUND THE INTERACTIVE WATER FEATURE.
  • BE AWARE OF POTENTIAL SLIPPERY SURFACES.
  • CHILDREN UNDER THE AGE OF 12 MUST HAVE ADULT SUPERVISION.
  • NO FOOD, DRINK, GLASS, OR PETS ARE ALLOWED ON OR AROUND THE INTERACTIVE WATER FEATURE.
  • FOR THE HEALTH OF ALL USERS, RESTROOMS SHALL BE USED FOR THE CHANGING OF DIAPERS.
  • WATER IS TREATED AND RECYCLED.
  • SKATEBOARDS, SCOOTERS, BIKES, OR OTHER VEHICLES ARE NOT ALLOWED.
  • EMERGENCY TELEPHONE NUMBER IS 911.
  • TO REPORT VANDALISM PLEASE CALL SANDY PARKS & RECREATION AT 801.568.2900 OR POLICE DISPATCH 801.799.3000.
  • NEAREST TELEPHONE IS AT THE SANDY SENIOR CENTER (EAST OF WATER FEATURE) - 9310 S. 1300 E.

 

 PERSONAL HYGIENE AND BEHAVIOR RULES

  • RUNNING, BOISTEROUS PLAY OR ROUGH PLAY IS PROHIBITED.
  • A PERSON HAVING A COMMUNICABLE DISEASE TRANSMISSIBLE BY WATER MUST BE EXCLUDED FROM PUBLIC WATER FEATURES.
  • A PERSON HAVING ANY EXPOSED SUB-EPIDERMAL TISSUE, INCLUDING OPEN BLISTERS, CUTS, OR OTHER LESIONS MAY NOT USE THE WATER FEATURE.
  • A PERSON WHO HAS OR HAS HAD DIARRHEA WITHIN THE LAST TWO WEEKS CAUSED BY AN UNKNOWN SOURCE OR FROM ANY COMMUNICABLE OR FECAL-BORNE DISEASE MAY NOT ENTER THE WATER FEATURE.
  • ANY CHILD UNDER THREE YEARS OLD OR A CHILD NOT TOILET TRAINED, OR A PERSON WHO LACKS CONTROL OF DEFECATION SHALL WEAR A WATER RESISTANT SWIM DIAPER AND WATERPROOF SWIMWEAR. LEG OPENINGS FITTED SUCH THAT THEY ARE IN CONTACT WITH THE WAIST AND LEG AROUND THE ENTIRE CIRCUMFERENCE.
  • DIAPERS SHALL BE CHANGED ONLY IN RESTROOMS ON CHANGING STATIONS AND SHALL NOT BE CHANGED AT THE WATER FEATURE. THE INDIVIDUAL(S) WHO CHANGE THE DIAPER MUST WASH THEIR HANDS THOROUGHLY WITH SOAP BEFORE RETURNING TO THE WATER FEATURE.
