Miss Sandy 2017

Emily McIntyre has recently been awarded the title of Miss Sandy 2017.  She works for Culinary Crafts and Cascade Cosmetic Surgery Center.  Emily is currently attending Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah studying Nursing with an emphasis in pediatrics or psychology.

Emily said “Preparing for Miss Utah has already been an incredible experience. Due to our sponsors I have a gym membership at vasa so I can keep my body physically ready. I also have loved being able to know what is going on not just locally but nationally. I love being able to have an opinion on certain news subjects and I love sharing that with others. I cant wait to serve the city as Miss Sandy and represent the city in the Miss Utah Pageant in June.

Emily will work with the city of Sandy to promote her platform throughout the year as she prepares to represent Sandy City in the 2018 Miss Utah Pageant. Along with the title of Miss Sandy 2017, Emily will receive a $3,500 scholarship to a school of her choice.

Her Platform

Her platform is Voice for the Voiceless. It is all about helping homeless pets and promoting the "adopt don’t shop" motto. She also more recently has started to work with service and support animals, as she has a support animal herself. She wants to show people what an influence animals can have on our lives and how we can help them but they can also help us. She works with The Humane Society of Utah and spends many hours volunteering and hosting events to raise money for supplies they need. She said “adopting a pet or helping a shelter pet get adopted is saving a life, and I am so happy to be apart of that.”
